It easily ranks as one of the most awaited motion pictures coming next year. In a festive surprise, a preview has now been released, though it's hampered by YouTube's poor compression—maybe illustrating the director's choice to restrict the trailer solely for theatrical audiences.
A First Glimpse at the Legendary Cast
The debut footage showcases Matt Damon portraying Odysseus. Audiences are introduced to Tom Holland playing the son alongside Anne Hathaway as Penelope. In a poignant moment, Penelope asks her husband to vow he will return, only for him to look up and question what happens if he cannot. Furthermore, the preview provides a quick, obscured look at Polyphemus the Cyclops, whose flock are taken by the hero and his men on their treacherous voyage.
Adapted from a foundational pillar in classic storytelling, The Odyssey follows the lengthy quest undertaken by the famed ruler. Following his victory in the Trojan War, as told in Homer's Iliad, Odysseus endures an extended and hazardous return to his homeland.

Along his path, Odysseus confronts numerous obstacles and mythical beings. These include the enchantress Circe, who transforms men into swine, as well as the treacherous Sirens. Despite these trials, his sworn oath is to overcome anything to reunite with Penelope and Telemachus in Ithaca.
